Laptops - Students in grades 2-12 have been issued Laconia School District Laptops.

  • ​Using READ ALOUD​Students now have access to READ ALOUD: Text to Speech Voice Reader.   This powerful tool will read text to students when in Google Chrome, Google Classroom, etc... Below you will find directions on how to access this tool, install it if necessary and how to use it, I have also included how to use the Immersive Reader in MS Word.  You can also access our READ ALOUD support video by clicking this link https://youtu.be/jB1KDs1DrBU     READ ALOUD can not read text that is in a PDF file or text that is scanned as an image.

ALMA:  All families in the the Laconia School District have access to our student information system known as ALMA. Here you are able to view the students you have in the Laconia School District, you can view their overall schedule, see their attendance, access past report cards and email their teacher through the portal if desired.

  • Password:  Created by you the user, if you have forgotten your password or have not set it up click Forgot Password?
  • ​​​Use the email address you provided to the school for email communication, Click reset password.

Students Using their Own Devices
  • Email & Google Classroom Access - Students that are using their own devices can access their E-mail & Google Classroom  can do so by logging into their G-mail at Google.com or by going to mail.laconaischools.org
    • ​just make sure to log out of any other GMail accounts that might be logged into before accessing your school G-Mail account.

  • YouTube:  If you are trying to watch a video in YouTube assigned by your teacher make sure you are logged into YouTube using your Google account username and password.
Zoom:  
  • ​Students Do Not need to create a Zoom account (and are not encouraged to).
  • Teachers will send student's an email invitation to Zoom sessions via their Email accounts,
  • Students must tap on the Join Meeting Link ​ to join a live session.
  • Next you will see Please Enter Your Name:  type your Student​'s Name (this should only have to be done once).
  • Next - Zoom would like to Access the Microphone, tap OK
  • Next - Zoom is asking to Allow for Notifications, click Don't Allow
  • A box will pop up reading To hear other please join audio, select Call Using Internet Audio
Shutting Off Microsoft Teams from Starting Up.

Would you like to turn off Microsoft Teams from automatically starting up when the computer is turned on.    

*  Go to the Search bar at the bottom of your screen.
*  Type in Startup Apps
*  A list of Startup Apps will appear, scroll down until
    you see Microsoft Teams
*  Toggle to the Off position.
*  Close Startup
*  On the next restart Teams will not load, but is still
​    operable when opened.

Username & Passwords:  Each Student in the Laconia School District has a username and password to Log On to their school issused Laptop, their Email Account in Google and to access their G-Suite for Education Account (Google Classroom, etc.) Username: is their student ID number (5 to 8 digit number) - that can be provided to them by their Teacher (Grades Preschool-6 (Grades 7-8 coming soon) or the School's Secterary. 

 Passwords are unique to each student - in grades Pre-K -6 this password can be provided to your student by their classroom teacher or the School's Secretary (Grades 7 & 8 coming soon).​

EMail (G-Mail) & Zoom: 
  • All students have school e-mail addresses through G-Mail.  

  • ​G-Mail on Laptops can be access by going to Google.com or go to mail.laconiaschools.org using the Chrome Browser

  • Access by clicking on the Waffle icon as seen below found in the upper right hand corner of the Chrome browser once logged into Google.com
